Hair loss is common in a large part of the population. Despite this, no one likes to lose hair, so, normally, everyone tries to remedy it. In recent years, the emergence of treatments such as minoxidil has been transcendental to fully stop its fall. We must first analyse the type of fall, since, as we said in a previous post, it is better to use it to fix small alopecia rather than increasing the growth in the hairline or in areas where the root is damaged. In that case, it is best to perform a hair transplantation, obtaining a much greater result.
Minoxidil is a treatment applicable in both men and women. It is ideal for occasional alopecia caused by an eating disorder, stress, illness or even after pregnancy. When applying it it is completely normal to notice itchy scalp, as minoxidil has alcohol which causes dryness, getting to irritate and redden the scalp. Sometimes, because of the lack of hair, either entrances or in areas where hair is beginning to be born, it may be much more visual. We recommend that you do not use minoxidil during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The hair goes through several phases from its birth to its fall, being the following:
* The duration of the phases is approximate and depends on the person.
We must take into account that each follicle begins its phase at a certain moment, each being in a different phase and being approximately approximate.
This treatment stimulates the circulation of the blood vessels of each hair follicle. After this, the hair cycle is modified, decreasing the phase where the hair is lost and making the one in which it is born more durable, producing an increase in the number of hair, as well as the volume. Of course, we cannot forget to apply it every day.
Shedding comes from the verb shed, whose meaning is detachment. As we have said, minoxidil shortens the telogen and exogenous phase, losing the hair found here before new stronger, healthier and more durable hairs are born so that our hair looks radiant. We do not have to worry about hair loss, since the hair that is lost is usually weakened, stimulating the birth of new hair. Therefore, minoxidil does not begin to take effect until after a few months, so we should not worry if we do not see benefits or, even, it seems that we go back to the beginning of treatment.
